Designed in inspiration from the album cover of Trust the Tangerine Peel, released in 2021 by Iranian musician Mohsen Namjoo, this piece is a unique rug artwork produced using the tufting technique. The cover image, designed by artist Iman Raad and centered around a peeled tangerine peel, represents the idea of order existing within randomness.
In this interpretation, the structure that appears chaotic on the surface yet holds meaning and balance within Namjoo’s visual and musical world is reexamined through texture and composition. The resulting work reflects a multilayered relationship between music, visual design, and textile.
Mohsen Namjoo is an Iranian musician and composer known for his experimental approach that blends traditional Persian music with rock, jazz, and contemporary forms. His 2021 album Trust the Tangerine Peel reflects this distinctive style, combining poetic lyricism with unconventional structures and rhythms. The album stands out for its layered musical language and conceptual depth, paralleling Namjoo’s broader artistic exploration of order and chaos.
